Did you know a person can live about 3 weeks with no food, 3-7 days without water but without oxygen they lose consciousness in a matter of seconds? The amount of oxygen in our body is a crucial factor for our ability to function and heal.
Mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a therapy that will increase the oxygen levels in your tissues (brain, muscles, blood, etc.) and begin the process of helping your body heal, decrease inflammation, increase your immune function, and increase brain function for improved memory, mood and sleep.
How it Helps
Here is a list of the many ways mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing concentrated oxygen while under pressure) promotes healing.
- Decreases Inflammation and pain
- Forces oxygen 400% deeper into bodily tissues
- Saturates plasma with oxygen and promotes healing of all tissue within the body
- Increases White Blood cell Formation
- Increases Stem Cell production and their transfer to the Central Nervous System
- Direct production of stem cells in the brain
- Anti-Microbial effect
- Promotes increased circulation and blood flow
- Decreases bacterial/yeast load found systemically and in the gut
- Decreases viral load found systemically
- Increased production of serotonin to help with mood and sleep
Many people suffering with un-resolving symptoms such as joint pain, muscle pain, fatigue, poor circulation, weakened immune system (including autoimmune issues) and/or digestive issues could benefit greatly from increasing the amount of oxygen in their tissues.
In our clinic we see great results with brain recovery following stroke, traumatic brain injury and concussions. We are also seeing those who are healing from Lyme disease report reductions in their symptoms as they move through the healing process of the microbial challenges of Lyme and its co-infections.

Cancer is a disease that does not appreciate high oxygen levels in our tissues. There are many cutting edge cancer treatment centers that incorporate hyperbaric oxygen therapies into their healing programs to assist the healing and strengthening of the immune system, increase detoxification, healing of scar tissue and the recovery of the gut microbiome to the support recovery and prevention.
What We Know About Low Oxygen Levels
1996 study published in the journal SPINE found that back pain is closely related to low oxygen levels around compressed spinal nerves. Nerves emit more pain signals when they are in a low oxygen state, when oxygenated, pain signals decreased.
2014 study at university of Illinois, arthritis is triggered by low oxygen. Joints become hypoxic they produce a protein called CCL28. This protein triggers the pain and inflammation of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
A study by the U.S. centers for disease control and prevention found that low oxygen is linked to chronic fatigue syndrome.
2014 study at the University of California, Sand Diego found that low oxygen levels get fat cells to release a substance called HIF-1alpha. This release leads to inflammation, insulin resistance and higher blood sugars. Increased oxygen levels improves the function of insulin producing pancreas cells.
Low oxygen levels can also cause an increase in blood pressure and increased inflammation.
